INTRODUCTION AND BENEFITS TOILET SUPPORT ARMS AS A BATH OR A TOILET AID

Benefits of using Toilet Support Arms as a disability aid.

Home: Welcome

Support arms also known as Toilet Support Arms  are categorised as a disability aid or a toilet aid or a bath aid is similar to grab bars or a grab rails UK but can provide more support to the user as they are placed on either side of the toilet or on the side (outer) wall of the bathtub.

When used as a bath aid, a support arm can be attached to the side wall using a clamp and when support arms are used as a toilet aid they can be screw fixed on either side of the toilet suite.

Another variation of toilet support arms available in the market is a set of support arms that are attached to the toilet seat itself rather than the side walls.

When are Support Arms Useful?

  • If the user does not feel comfortable supporting their weight due to leg muscle or knee/joint problems.

  • After a user has experienced a stroke

  • When the user has recently undergone a surgery and is feeling generally week.

Benefits of Support Arms

More support to the user: A support arm when used as a toilet aid can be installed on either side of the toilet thus providing more support to the user as compared to a grab rail, which is generally installed on one side of the toilet. The user can only use one arm in the case of the grab rail to lift and sit on the toilet seat.

Collapsable: Some support arms come fitted with a hinge and can be collapsed downward after use. This allows for better utilisation of space within the bathroom and toilet.

Easy Installation: Support arms can either be screw fixed or come as a part of the toilet seat. This makes it easy to install support arms.
