Doc M or Document M, are pre-assembled product sets that contain all components as required to create a disabled toilet for public use, shower or changing room in compliance with the UK building regulations and adhering to the Disability

Discrimination Act 2004. DOC M Packs play an integral role in the lives of those with limited mobility and sufferers of disabilities, providing them an option to enjoy a full life when it comes to accessing the toilet in a safe, private and dignified manner.

A Doc M Pack consists of a BS8300 Compliant accessible toilet which with its raised height allows a wheelchair user to access easily along with easy to use taps, washbasin and grab rails.

Grab Rails play a pivotal role allowing users better mobility in the bathrooms by offering strong and steady support to shift positions; standing to sitting and vice versa.

Grab Rails are available in many shapes, sizes and colours however as part of the DOC M pack, these must be in a colour contrasting to the wall they are being installed on so as to cater to those with vision problems. Likewise, the flooring installed in the washroom should also be of a contrasting colour and non-slip in nature.

Wheelchair users must also have the space to move and transfer themselves from their wheelchair and onto the accessible or disabled toilet. This space is called the Transfer space. The flushing handle needs to be on the same side as the transfer space rather than toward the wall allowing a user to flush down with ease and through the use of any part of their body.

The correct positioning of the washbasins with the tap fitted to the nearest corner of the WC is of equal importance to allow users to either wash hands before getting dressed or use a container with ease.

When installed correctly, these can make a world of difference in enhancing the quality of life for its users.
